You can make any homemade icing recipe and add purple yam powder. Yams are purple and the powder makes a great "natural" food coloring. You can purchase yam powder in an Asian grocery or other specialty store.
You can also buy natural food coloring (no artificial colors) and mix the blue and red to get a purple. Have fun with it!
