Vanilla extract substitute for cookies
by: Clarissa the Mom Chef

Hi Louise!

If you find out you are out of vanilla extract you can leave it out of the cookie recipe and it won't ruin the cookies.

Vanilla extract brings out the sweet flavor in cookies. One great substitute for vanilla extract is maple syrup. Add the same amount of maple syrup in place of vanilla extract. You can also try almond extract as a substitute.

When you use a vanilla extract substitute the cookies will taste a little different - you might even like them better! Let us know how your cookies turn out.
