The Hero

by Ryan
(California)

To make your Hero sandwich, sssemble as ordered:

1 piece of sourdough bread
1 teaspoon of lime blasted mayonnaise
a light sprinkle of shredded cheese
3-4 pieces of ham (any type)
1 teaspoon of coney island hot dog mustard
1 teaspoon of ranch dressing
2 pieces of lettuce
1 jalapeno pepper sliced
first three repeated

OK you are almost done but here comes the fun. You roast the bread for 2 minutes in a toaster oven, not a toaster. For the oven crowd you roast at 375F degrees for 5 minutes.

It started one day when I made a grilled cheese for lunch. I finished way too quickly so I started to think of ways to make it last longer. I started with ham. Next I put my favorite mayo which has lime juice. Then seven different variants later it turns out awesome.

Another thing: I'm still experimenting so I am not finished so I will be posting variants that I like. Also if you happen to make it better post your own.
