Silly Cookies

by Kikianna
(USA)

A simple sugar cookie recipe can be turned into "silly cookies" by making funny faces with candy and jam. Kids will have fun with this!

2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
candy sprinkles or red colored sugar
raspberry or strawberry jam

Mix dry ingredients and set aside. Cream butter, shortening, and sugar. Add egg, milk, and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture, then mix with mixer.

Shape into balls and refrigerate for 2 hours. Flatten balls on greased cookie sheet. Place about 1/2" apart. Bake at 400F (200C) degrees for 7-8 minutes.

Then decorate with candy sprinkles and jam and make funny faces on them!
