Rudolph Red Nose Cookies

by Baylee, age 10
(Chippawa, Ontario, Canada)

Festive sugar cookies that look like Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer.

1 cup butter, softened
1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup icing sugar
1/2 cup maraschino cherries

Preheat oven at 350F degrees. In a large bowl, combine butter, flour, and icing sugar with a electric mixer. Spoon onto cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Cut maraschino cherries in half and put one in each cookie. Bake for 15-17 minutes.

Note from Mom Chef, Clarissa: Maybe you could add raisins for the eyes, chocolate chips for the mouth, and licorice sticks for the antlers (shape licorice as you like to make them curly using your hands or a table knife). Any more ideas?
