Honey Oat Slice/Bars

by Shaylee
(Australia)

Healthy homemade oat bars are the perfect kid snack!

3 cups rolled oats
1½ cups plain flour
1½ cups caster sugar
1 1/3 cups desiccated coconut
1 teaspoon baking powder
300g (1 cup + 5 tablespoons) unsalted butter, melted
2 tablespoons honey

1. Preheat oven to moderate, 180°C (350°F). Lightly grease and line an 18 x 28 cm slice pan with baking paper.

2. In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients. Add butter and honey. Mix well, stirring with a wooden spoon until combined.

3. Press mixture firmly into pan using a spoon or the bottom of a glass. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Cut into slices while hot and leave to cool in pan. Store in an airtight container for up to 10 days.
