Healthy Hammy Trail Mix

by Nicki
(U.S.A)

This is a recipe that is completely dry that your hammy will love! If you feed your hamster too much fresh fruits/veggies a day, they can get diarrhea which can lead to dehydration.

You will need:

- apple
- grape
- carrot
- nuts (almonds are bad!)
- seeds

First, cut up the apple into about 5 small bite sized pieces. Do the same with the grape and carrot. You can put leftovers in the fridge for future use.

Separate the little pieces on a plate, cover them with plastic wrap, and poke holes in the wrap.

Next, place them in a cool, dry place. Leave them there for 3-5 days or until they're dry. Put them into a treat bowl, add nuts, seeds, and mix them all together.

You can even get some peanut butter and make a trail mix ball. Remember: treats should only be around 10% of a hamsters daily intake.
