Easy Peanut Butter and Cocoa Frosting

by Yasmine

An easy frosting recipe that is perfect for pastries.

2 tablespoons peanut butter
1 cup sugar
milk as needed
powdered hot cocoa

Heat milk and cocoa. Whisk while heating until smooth. Set aside.

Put peanut and sugar in pot on low to warm up. Slowly add hot cocoa until reaching desired consistency. Let cool before putting on pastry.

Note: Add more milk to create a drizzle. Left-over cocoa - good fun to have a cup while frosting cools!

This recipe sould be removed. It's not really a user friendly recipe. The directions are easy but yet not clear on when to add coco, with that said you would almost need to make the peanut butter and sugar mixture like that of a brittle recipe. I think it would be easier and taste better if you were to run to your local Walmart and get Reese's cups and melt them down for frosting.

I don't know what all the glory is with this recipe. The only thing it has going for it is the fact that it doesn't take a lot of ingredients to make. With that said, you definitely taste the lack of ingredients. It has a nice taste but too grainy from the sugar and not thick enough for a frosting. The texture is more for a dipping sauce rather than a frosting. I won't make this again.

I was having a sweet tooth and I look in my pantry and all I have is cupcake mix but no icing. I found this recipe and loved that I didn't need powdered sugar (cause I am out)!Mixed it together and now its in the fridge cooling and thickening up! I think its going to be great, THANKS!
