Easy Chocolate Cake for Kids

by Molly
(Swan Hill. Australia)

Here is a super-easy and very chocolaty cake that kids can make with a yummy chocolate icing.

Ingredients:

2 cups of self-raising flour
1 tablespoon of cocoa (if you want it really chocolaty or 1 teaspoon if not)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon of vanilla essence
1 block of chocolate
2 eggs

Frosting:

1 cup of icing sugar
1 teaspoon of cocoa
milk

1. Mix all the ingredients together from the top section ingredients above except the block of chocolate. Once all mixed to a smooth condition, break bits of block of chocolate and push them into the batter.

2. Bake at 180C (350F) degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until spongy.

3. Once cooked leave to cool down.

4. Mix icing together and then spread icing over cake when it is cold.

5. Serve.

Block of chocolate amount
by: Mom Chef

1 block of chocolate should be about 100 grams or 3 1/2 ounces. Does that sound right, Molly?

Could you specify the size of a "block of chocolate"? Thanks!
